I'm sure you have heard of some of them before...

1. One mosquito coil takes 1 hour to burn. If you are given 2 coils and a lighter, how do you determine 45 mins by burning them alone? (you can't do anything to the coils, like measuring half or breaking it)

2. There is a 10m black building and a 1m white building. which one will the thunder strike?

3. There is a red fat candle and white thin candle that are burning. which of them will burn longer?

4. Paul and Jill lies dead on the floor with a broken glass bowl beside them inside a big villa in Egypt. how did they die?

5. Mrs Tan gave birth to 2 sons on the same day and at the same hour but they are not twins. Why?

I was sending Bo back to his armor camp at Lim Chu Kang when I saw a long trail of cars parked at the side of the road. The cars are not the usual ones that you see on the road. Some are modified sports cars with bold stickers all over them. Instinct tells me something fishy is going on... Going further down the road, I notice 2 cars speeding by at lightning speed, stepping up on their pedals, obviously racing with each other! Even further, at the end of the long stretch of straight road (which can be used as an emergency runway during war), were 2 other cars, abreast with each other and not moving off though the traffic light was green. I immediately realised that they are getting ready to set off to another race. Whizzing past them, I took out my mobile and dialed 999... after painting the scenario, the policeman on the other line replied "illegal racing at lim chu kang rd? someone has informed us about it and the traffic police is on the way... can I have your name and contact no?" My wife was worried about going back the same way, in case there is any freak accident or we might happen to be there when the police arrives and mistaken us as part of them... but the other way back was totally dark, winding and a long way off on a narrow road so we decided to take a chance... back at the scene, it was totally quiet and the road was completely empty. there was not a single trace of the cars at all. it feels as if they were not even there in the first place. no traffic police came as we journeyed back. nothing. it was like an illusion and it can send chills down your spine if you imagine too much because that stretch of road where we witness the event was beside the cemeteries. the time was almost 12 midnight...

I recently learned that the US dollar is getting devalued day by day as the country lands itself into tremendous debts. If it continues, the US dollar will probably collapse and throw the whole economic world into chaos since everything is traded in US dollars. If so, the only valuable asset left at that time would be gold. So it's a smart move to be investing in this precious metal right now. And I blessed to know of a friend who taught me of a way to buy gold that is world class, private and can't be confiscated by the government in crisis.

My family is recently enjoying time together by playing GAMEWRIGHT card games. They are really fun and challenging! I introduced it to my students and they love it too! we are currently hooked on Sleeping Queens


I recently got interested about the end time prophecies in the bible since the current world situations point that we are the generation to experience the last days before the Great Tribulation. It seems like everything is falling into place (for the peace treaty, third temple in Jerusalem, the one world government for the anti-christ, the one world religion for the false prophet, the mark of the beast and the rapture!) The prophecies are so accurate that it makes my hair stand on its end! Though you can't be 100% certain when and who it is, the picture will get clearer as more things unfold... be watchful, lest you are caught off guard!

From what I was reading recently came this vision for my home:

I hope that my home is rife with the aroma of love. Those who visit us would notice immediately that they have left the world of self-centeredness, pretense and enter a safe haven where people value and esteem others above themselves. People would enter my home, be warmed and not want to leave. Our neighbors should find excuses to visit us just to get another whiff of the fragrant aroma of love. The brokenhearted would long to near us. The downtrodden and abused should seek us out. Families on the brink of disaster would point to us and say "Why can't our home be like that?"

But of cos, my family is still work in progress but we will keep progressing :)

As for my son, he suddenly started talking about the kind of family that he hope to have when he grows up next time!

He wants 20 kids, 5 daughters and 15 sons (he thought of a name for each already!). He wants a house with 7 rooms (4 kids in each room, one room for himself and his wife and one room filled entirely with his family's photos!) He also wants to have a basketball court, a swimming pool and drive them around with a van and homeschool them with his wife!

I said "SURE!"

Met them for the first time today. 5 of them. Innova JC. shall not mention their names because one of them is a "STAR" (better not have too much publicity, right!?). LOL! Only they will get the joke! Anyway, I got to know them because of Ai Li, the Straits Times reporter who reported about homeschooling. They are nice but rather (shy!? - I think they are actually very chatty but paiseh only) people :) thoughtful enough to buy us a cake (we coincidentally bought the same one in the morning! so we are blessed with 2 cakes in our fridge :P). was hoping to help them out as much as possible so that they can do well for their Project Work. They chose modernisation in education? who knows 5 years down the road, home-schooling will be even more prevalent in S'pore! That would be really good news! :)

Christian willl be attached to RV Pri for at least 4 weeks to join a CCA (hopefully it's badminton - he loves to play and is pretty good at it) so that they can verify if their assumption about the social aspect of homeschooling kids is true.

They reminded me of my ex-students whom I dearly miss. They reminded me of my JC days too. life was easier then. PW? what is that? we never did such a thing! :P Time has changed and life is getting more stressful, isn't it? well, at least, one thing can stand the test of time, which is why we are home-schooling our kids: relationship. what is more worthwhile than that? :)

I remembered when I was interviewed by another group of JC students (2 years back) on the effectiveness of sexual education in schools that I replied firmly it should be scraped long ago because what teens really need is love education, learning how to be loved and to love :) you agree with me?

but still miss the beautiful WHITE beach and CLEAR water, thriving with marine life!

the coach ride takes 10 hours! but it's really worth it!
